Customer Service Specialist

The Customer Service Specialist will be responsible for entering customer orders, answering calls and emails, providing product information, and helping the customer by being informative, empathetic, and eager to quickly solve a customer’s problem. Must be willing to listen, learn, and resolve any customer inquiry that crosses your desk. This individual must have a strong work ethic and possess the ability to calmly handle problems and collaboratively turn them into solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves customers by providing product and service information and resolving product and service problems
  • Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions and suggesting information about other products and services
  • Maintains customer records by updating account information
  • Recommends potential products or services to management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs
  • Enter customer orders
  • Provide customers with a clear understanding of their order, delivery dates, invoicing and warranties
  • Assist in building and maintaining technical knowledge base
  • Assist with, and follow-up on quotes
  • Assist in conducting competitive research and analysis
  • Assist outside sales representatives as needed
  • CRM data entry of prospects and customers 
  • Attend industry and product related training programs, conferences, seminars, and educational forums as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Sales or customer service experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team atmosphere
  • Positive attitude
  • Able to foster and develop profitable long-term relationships
  • Willingness and ability to learn new things

EDUCATION and/​or EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree minimum
  • 2+ years’ experience in Sales and/​or Customer Service
  • Will consider 4‑year degree in lieu of experience
  • Manufacturing or Distribution Experience a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping. Strength rating for this job is L – Light Work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/​or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/​or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical requirements are more than those for sedentary work.
